AoC International Conference 2014 19 June 2014

NCC Education can confirm the resounding success of the AoC International 2014 Conference which took place on June 11 at London’s Inmarsat Conference Centre. The event proved extremely productive as delegates and key note speakers explored International Education issues and key overseas markets.

The break out session on Latin America drew unanimous praise for its refreshingly hands-on approach to market research, establishing contacts, trade missions, cost sharing and student recruitment. Run by Ayesha Williams, International Charter and Policy Officer at AoC, and Sue Sharkey, Director of International and Teacher Training at Bournemouth and Poole College, the optional session covered how best to commission reports or events and successfully achieve a return on investment.

Jo Beall’s section on support from the British Council and Tony Bravo’s Strategic Partnership for China, drawn from his own personal experience, were also notably engaging and useful presentations.

NCC Education’s Regional Manager for the UK, Europe and South America, Steve Smith, attended the event and noted the useful platform it provided “offering content relevant to NCC Education as a business”. The event also offered excellent networking opportunities, Steve Smith continued, “I had some very productive conversations with existing partners, and also some strong leads through conversations with a number of prospective UK partner colleges. As a business we feel strongly that we can work with colleges in developing their portfolio to attract international students. We were delighted with the reception we received from the delegates and met with many existing customers as well”.

Business Development Project Consultant at Belfast Metropolitan College, Glen McMahon described the day as a “great networking event, useful for identifying new opportunities and learning about new products and services, particularly with the helpful and informative NCC Education team”.

Finally, Steve Smith was delighted to note “a definite increase in brand awareness and our general presence compared to last year. NCC Education has become a serious player in the International FE market, people wanted to talk to us and knew who we were or are now already partnering with us”.

NCC Education will be next attending the Study World 2014 event in September.
