Meet the Team

Allan Norton
General Manager, NCC Education Ltd
Regions

Allan has been General Manager of NCC Education since May 2016 after taking on an advisory role at the Informatics Education group.  He possesses over 27 years of working experience in a vast array of industries, in particular IT and automation, and excelling in the Finance and Sales functions, at both Asia-Pacific regional and global levels.

In addition to his roles and tapping on his wealth of experience as Asia Regional Controller and Sales Operations for Lawson Software (later renamed Infor and is the 3rd largest listed ERP software company in the world), he founded start-ups in ERP software and consulting operations as well as online business platforms,.   Prior to Lawson Software, he spent 13 years with the Invensys group, a diversified controls and automation organisation, holding regional positions both in Australia and Asia, before finally settling in Singapore. With his wife Sharon, Allan co-founded Mothers en Vogue, an international SME that designs, develops and distributes a proprietary range of maternity and nursing apparel.

Allan is presently supporting a social enterprise that works with young aspiring entrepreneurial baristas, with the purpose of mentoring and encouraging talented young individuals to establish their own coffee business to break through the corporate barriers.  He is also an academy representative in the Sporting Parents Network at the Singapore Sports School.  He holds several non-executive Director positions with several Singapore-based businesses.

Allan has called Singapore home since 1998 and is married with two teenage children. He is a CPA and has a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Monash University.

He is an avid cyclist and runner, having competed in many triathlon and Ironman events.  In his more youthful sporting days, he played Australian rules football both in Australia and Singapore.

Emma Dawkins
Director of Qualifications and Academic Delivery
Academic

Emma oversees the development of our qualifications and assessments, developing high quality specifications and teaching support which meets global regulatory conditions. She is also responsible for operational delivery, quality assurance and processes providing responsive administrative support for our centres, examiners and moderators. Prior to joining NCC Education in May 2013, Emma served as an Assistant Director at AQA.

Roger Chetty
Regional Director for Africa and Middle East
Regions

Roger was appointed Regional Director for Africa and Middle East in February 2015, bringing with him more than 20 years’ marketing and sales experience across a number of industries including Education, Motor and Construction. Prior to joining NCC Education, Roger was one of the founding directors of UKZN Extended Learning, a subsidiary of the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

His role at NCC Education is to provide leadership and strategic guidance to the region, contributing to the setting and achievement of high quality regional growth targets, the continuous enhancement of NCC Education’s programmes and student experience, and the delivery of the highest levels of academic support and customer service to NCC Education’s Accredited and Approved centres and students.

Andrew Rennie
Regional Director for Europe and Latin America
Regions

Andrew became the Regional Director for Europe and Latin America in 2016 having had over ten years’ experience in NCC Education. Previous roles held within the company include product development, assessments, quality and he was the regional manager for South Asia at one stage.

Currently, Andrew is responsible for the company’s continued growth and determining the strategic direction for the UK, European, Central Asian, Caribbean and South American markets, overseeing the support of our accredited partner centre network together with bringing on new strategic clients.

Andrew has the experience and detailed knowledge of international education, pathway programmes, trans-national education and international student recruitment. Across his career, Andrew has worked in the International offices of two UK universities, managed overseas staff and offices, and has an intimate knowledge of China. He has also worked in the textile industry, IT training and has lived and worked extensively overseas.

He is passionate about translating global education opportunities into viable and cost-effective business models for our partner organisations. As a result of his extensive experience across both public and private international education sectors, he has the ability to commercially evaluate opportunities and consistently deliver strong investment returns and advice for our accredited partner network.

Andrew holds a business degree, an MBA and the Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma.

Professor Peter Ford
Chairman of the Academic Board (MA, DIC, C.Eng, FBCS, CITP)
Academic Boards

Professor Peter Ford is Chairman of the Academic Board. In this role he oversees the awarding of all NCC Education qualifications.

Peter has now retired from the University of Nottingham, but retains the title of Emeritus Professor there. During his time at Nottingham, Peter held the posts of Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dean of Science and Head of the Department of Computer Science. He is a Director of numerous other UK companies and has many years of experience in international consultancy.

Emeritus Professor Brian Anderton
BSc (Hons) ACIB, FCIB
Academic Boards

After a career in banking working with two of the UK’s leading banks, Brian started his academic career teaching on University of London programmes, before moving to Birmingham City University. After holding several increasingly senior teaching posts in Finance and Banking, he became a Dean in the Business School with particular responsibility for Academic Planning and Development. This role gave Brian extensive experience of the design of academic programmes and their associated assessment strategies, and of quality assurance and enhancement in the University sector. He also gained extensive experience in validations both in the UK and overseas, notably in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and China, and also in Eastern Europe. In 1998, the University conferred a personal chair on Brian, and he became the Professor of Banking Education at the University.

Brian retired from full-time Higher Education in 2008. At this time, the University conferred on Brian the title of Emeritus Professor. However, he remains actively involved in University-level education as a Higher Education Consultant. He has undertaken an extensive range of assignments for the UK Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA). These have included acting as an Academic Auditor in the review of UK universities, and also of their collaborative arrangements in the UK and other countries; undertaking QAA reviews of UK higher education provision in Greece and Cyprus and Malaysia; acting as a QAA Degree Awarding Powers Reviewer; and undertaking reviews of private sector educational institutions in connection with their eligibility to grant visas to international students. Brian has also undertaken a wide range of consultancy assignments to assist universities preparing for their QAA Higher Education Review, in connection with the development of their academic policies and procedures, and in connection with the quality assurance and approval of their arrangements to deliver their programmes in conjunction with other UK and international partners. Universities with which Brian has recently worked include Bradford, the University of Wales, Liverpool John Moores, The University of Wales Trinity St David’s, Worcester, the University of Wales Newport, and Northampton.

Outside work, Brian travels extensively and also enjoys touring in the UK and abroad in his classic Jaguar car.

Lynne O’ Sullivan
BSc (Hons), MSc, PGCE
Academic Boards

Lynne joined the Academic Board in April 2014. Up until 2011 she was a member of AQA’s Senior Management Team, responsible for delivering a raft of strategic projects as part of a modernisation programme. Having previously held a variety of senior operational roles at AQA, she has extensive experience of designing and implementing key assessment processes and associated quality assurance procedures.

Since leaving AQA, Lynne has undertaken a series of consultancy assignments. She was commissioned by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) to co-ordinate a review of the Instructions for Conduct of Controlled Assessments working with representatives of the UK awarding bodies. More recently she has been working with International Baccalaureate, supporting a project to deliver onscreen assessment as an optional component of the IB’s Middle Years Programme. She is a member of Ofqual’s panel of External Experts identified to advise on various aspects of assessment and qualifications as an when required and she has recently been invited to act as a Research Associate for NFER.
