Suzanne Bartlett, Manager, Programme Development at NCC Education, recently attended a highly successful event at the British Council in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The seminar introduced students to a new opportunity in Bangladesh, the NCC Education International Foundation Year (IFY) programme.
The event was attended by over 100 students and the other speakers included Dr. Yousuf Islam, Local Moderator NCC Education, Mr. Peter Ashton, Director of Examinations and Mr. Iain Philip, Head of Courses, at The British Council, Dhaka. The students attending were interested in how to improve their skills for access to overseas degrees and asked many questions about the opportunities presented.
“It was a pleasure to talk to such enthusiastic students and answer their questions. IFY is a great fit for the needs they described and I’m sure the programme will be very successful in Bangladesh.” Suzanne Bartlett, Programme Manager, NCC Education.
Three centres in Bangladesh are now offering the IFY course including Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT), Bhuiyan Institute of Technology (BIT) and Institute of Business & Information Technology (IBIT).
The IFY is an ideal programme for students who are speakers of English as a foreign language and are seeking entrance to a university degree programme. It rapidly improves their English language skills while also upgrading their academic knowledge and developing their study skills to a level suitable for success on an undergraduate degree programme. Students that complete the programme can enter the NCC Education International Diploma in Business or Computer Studies or go on to study at an overseas university.
