The first official Academic Support Manager (ASM) Conference was successfully held at the Towers in November. The event allowed the four ASM’s, who are located in different offices around the world, the rare opportunity to meet with each other alongside the Programme Development Team, Quality Assurance Team and the Corporate Team.
The ASMs provide academic support to our Accredited Partner Centres worldwide through two main channels: Annual Monitoring and Accreditation Visits. The ASMs also provide practical advice and training on the delivery and assessment of all of our qualifications. A key objective of the annual monitoring visits is to ensure that Accredited Partner Centres maintain an excellent level of service and support for students studying an NCC Education qualification. ASMs will identify any potential developments, successes or problems regarding the partnership and will exchange feedback and discuss their suggestions to ensure the integrity of our partner centres’ academic performance.
ASMs are also on hand to respond to centres on queries and problems, evaluate requests for Extensions, Exemptions and Direct Entry onto our programmes, develop training materials and provide guidance on quality assurance issues using our local knowledge and expertise.
The conference allowed the ASMs to discuss Quality Assurance, Assessments, Academic Developments, Quality Enhancement and review all of their current processes and procedures. There was also some free time for the ASMs to socialise with other staff members based in the UK!
