AEA Training Centre celebrated its 10th Anniversary, by awarding scholarships to students from underprivileged backgrounds.
In a grand ceremony at the St. Georges Hotel, Port Louis, Mauritius, four students were awarded a scholarship for their next year’s study, in conjunction with NCC Education.
The training centre awarded four scholarships for the NCC Education International Diploma in Computer Studies, allowing students the opportunity to study for a programme that may previously have been beyond their reach.
Patrick Nanette, a recipient of one of the scholarships commented on how it would help him pursue his dream career; “It is difficult to study when you have four dependent children. This award is a boost for me”.
The scholarships were advertised in the local Mauritian press and then a select panel comprising of the Mauritius Qualifications Authority, the National Empowerment Foundation, NCC Education and AEA Training Centre, was set up for the selection of candidates.
AEA Training Centre Director, Girish Nuckchady, was delighted with the response from prospective students and was positive that this was something that could be developed further next year, commenting “It is the first time that we are offering scholarships. We hope that we will have the required means in the future to provide additional scholarships“.
NCC Education would like to congratulate each student on their achievement and wishes them every success for the future.
