NCC Education is pleased to announce the appointment of John Fairhurst as the company’s new Managing Director.
John has enjoyed both a distinguished and successful career, most recently as Professor of Law and Head of the School of Law at Birmingham City University. Throughout his time at Birmingham City University, John developed and implemented expert strategies, including the franchise of the first English LLB in Singapore and the accreditation of the LLB by the Bar Council of India. He went on to establish a public-private partnership for the development and delivery of a fully online LLM International Business Law programme, and also the development of a range of other successful partnerships with numerous colleges based in India, Bangladesh and Nigeria.
Prior to embarking on the world of academia, John qualified and practiced as a Solicitor for the Supreme Court of England and Wales and in 1993 he made the transition to academia by joining the University of Huddersfield as a Senior Lecturer in Law. During the latter part of his time at Huddersfield he was appointed to the post of Head of Collaborative Provision (Business School). In this role he had the opportunity to collaborate with NCC Education and was responsible for the development, quality assurance and enhancement of all programmes delivered off-campus.
More than a decade later John took up the position of Associate Dean (Faculty of Arts, Law and Social Sciences) at Anglia Ruskin University and from 2007 he also combined the role with the Head of Anglia Law School until he joined Birmingham City University in 2009.
