Fundamentals: Internet of Things Module

  • Overview

You will begin by exploring the history of internet evolution, the convergency of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT), and the eventual emergence of the term the Internet of Things (IoT).

By the end of the second chapter, you will have a good understanding of what sensors and actuators do and start to understand the applications used to power the Internet of Things (IoT).

Chapter Three will summarise the programming language used for IoT Projects and help you understand the relationship between 5G, the IoT revolution and how these are used in different industries.

In completing the course, you will be able to identify future career opportunities in the field of the Internet of Things.

 

  • Accreditation Status

The Fundamentals Internet of Things Module is accredited by the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Standards Office.

CPD is the intentional development of the knowledge and skills needed to perform in a professional context. CPD obligations are present in most professions and considered a priority by many companies as they ensure a constant developing workforce. The CPD Standards Office operates on a global scale, with accredited providers based in over 45 countries and delivering across even more. Their accreditation and CPD certificates have been accepted internationally.

Students that successfully complete the Internet of Things Module will be awarded a CPD accredited e-certificate.

Minimum requirements for students:

  • Good understanding of English
  • Students must be over the age of 18 years
