Hi Cherry, thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to chat to us!

No problem, it is my pleasure.

So, last time we spoke it was 2010, and you had just graduated from your business diploma. You were a Global High Achiever right?

Yes! In June 2010 I was presented with the prestigious Global High Achiever award. I could not believe that I had the highest mark in the world for the International Diploma in Business, I still have my plaque to remind me of this fantastic achievement – thank you NCC Education!

It’s no problem – here at NCC Education we know how much time and effort students put into their studies, that’s why we recognise high achieviers.

When we last communicated you told NCC Education how you dreamt of opening a restaurant. Two years down the line, and here you are, the Managing Director of a hugely successful restaurant.

I know! I have to pinch myself at times. It is through dedication, application and passion I have been able to achieve this, I opened my restaurant in 2011 and I am so happy with how it is growing. The NCC Education business diploma enabled me to successfully run my new business venture. The qualification taught me how to approach and select strategies, how to make effective analyses, how to draw a business plan, how to manage and control my employees and how to promote my restaurant. If I hadn’t have studied the NCC Education qualifications I would not have had this amount of success.

So tell us more about your restaurant, Spicy Forest.

I noticed that there was a niche in the market for a restaurant for teenagers; something bright, funky and new. Spicy Forest customers can enjoy delicious Thai, Korean, European food and various types of hot and cold drinks. I have themed the restaurant and decorated it to create a cool, relaxing, fashionable environment. The forest themed allowed me to really be creative with the décor and the furniture – I have tree trunk shaped tables and leaf shaped chairs. Our signature dish is something which I have invented, and a first for Myanmar – a rice burger! People agree with me – it is delicious!

Wow, sounds delicious. The pictures you sent us also look fantastic. What plans have you got for the future?

I plan to open a second branch this year, and hope to have five branches in the next three years!

Sounds ambitious… good luck, and please let us know how you are getting along. Thanks again for taking the time to speak to us!
