MORE than 16,000 students and parents attended the second annual Botswana Tertiary Education Fair last month.
NCC Education’s Accredited Partner Centre, Gaborone Institute of Professional Studies (GIPS), attended the four day fair which was opened by the Deputy Minister of Education. The event provides an educational hub, bringing together future students, regulatory bodies, government departments and education providers.
More than 200 programme application forms were distributed to potential students, with 70 already registering with the centre. The event also gave GIPS an opportunity to learn more about the local tertiary education system and discover potential other sources for student finance.
The Botswanan centre was also delighted to be awarded second place in the educational stall competition, which represented all their hard work and dedication at the event.
“The event was a huge success,” said Bev O’Donovan, Manager, Programme Support at NCC Education. “The education fair was a vital resource for the centre and thanks to all their hard work and commitment they are now reaping the rewards. It was a brilliant way to target students and show them and other centres what we are doing and what we can provide. Many potential students at the event were attracted to the NCC Education programmes and believed they would help them achieve their career goals.”
GIPS has been an Accredited Partner Centre for almost 10 years and is certified to deliver the following NCC Education programmes:
- International Certificate in Computer Studies (ICCS)
- International Diploma in Computer Studies (IDCS)
- International Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies (IADCS)
- BSc (Hons) Business Information Technology, awarded by the University of Greenwich
